Dick is a family man and together with his wife they have four children, and two granddaughters. Currently, Betsy and Dick are also involved in their respective business careers and full-time studies. Mr. DeVos is a graduate of Northwood University and Forest Hills Public Schools, which has given him his firm foundation in education.

After his education, Mr. DeVos began his career in Amway Corporation where he held various positions in various divisions of the organizations. His efforts saw him become the Vice President in 1984, where he oversaw the expansion of Amway into 18 countries beyond the United States and Canada. In 1991, Mr. Dick became the CEO and president of NBA’s Orlando Magic. In 1993, he returned to Amway as President and for the next nine years, under his leadership, the organization recorded high sales and profits. When I look at the bigger picture, I realize that it is philanthropy that has continued to make the United States freer, stronger, and happier.
