Professor Sujit Choudhry, also recognized as the I. Michael Heyman of Law at the prestigious University of California, stands out internationally for his input in comparative constitutional law and politics. Academic credentials and career

Professor Sujit Choudhry is a degree holder in Law from Oxford University as well as from Toronto and Harvard Universities. He is also a Rhodes Scholar. Sujit worked at the Supreme Court of Canada as a law clerk in the office of Chief Justice Antonio Lamer. Before moving to the University California, Professor Choudhry was at New York University as the Cecelia Goetz Professor of Law. In Toronto University, he was the School Chair. He is also an author and editor of book chapters, articles, reports, and working papers on constitutional law.

Choudhry founded The Centre for Constitutional Transitions with the aim of generating and bringing together information that is relevant to constitution building. Experts from over twenty-five countries, multilateral organizations, NGOs, and think tanks have benefited from Choudhry’s expertise. He argues that his organization is meant to provide up-to-date research, which is fundamental to constitutional development.

Globally, there has been enormous interest in the interpretation of the constitution.
